Loads of irrelevant/spam e-mail gets sent from addresses that turn out not to exist if you send an e-mail to them.
What if delivery of mail from not-before-seen e-mail addresses was held by the mailserver until a test e-mail of some sort is successfully delivered to the sender address?
Obvious things to consider:
- random failures
- what should be the message to the sender?
- sending a test e-mail confirms existence of the address it is sent from.
