to my mind, "detached" has a connotation of being without care for what is around you, including people, which is also not quite right. The kind of thing I'm talking about makes you care very intensely about the people around you and your surroundings. Everything is imbued with a sense of meaning. It all has a "glow" about it that makes one care very deeply.
