The Australian system of universal suffrage combined with preferential voting has resulted in power being shared between four major parties and a smattering of weirdo parties.
The Liberal party and the National party have a long standing coalition agreement. The Labor party and the Greens are like abusive siblings that hate each other, but still work together.
It's the minor parties where all the fun happens. The Shooters and Fishers party are agrarian socialists. The One Nation party wants to divide the nation. The Palmer party wants to rebuild the Titanic, and, I'm not joking. The Katter party wants to kill all the crocodiles.
Doesn't that sound like a lot more fun than a two party system?
