It was pretty obvious from the start that running social media as a business with a barebones premium option as their only revenue stream was extremely unlikely to ever work. Unfortunately it sounds like their plans to execute on that pivot ran into delays thanks to the harsh realities of life, and their runway to make it happen has unexpectedly vanished.
For what it's worth, I like Cohost and have continued to use (and pay for) it because the vibes there are by far the best of any social platform I've found so far. Its longevity was always in extreme doubt but I'm still going to miss it a lot in the event that it folds.
