Hello Nostr.

I am implementing my setup and I hope to gather some advice on the following:

-Best setup for Zaps, both self-hosted and 3rd party options.
-Best packages and projects for running a relay
-Best open source platforms that can be run to extend the nostr network

I have a few domains I have parked for some of these projects, but I am facing a bit of unexpected challenges in my personal and family life that have postponed a lot of the work. My mother was unexpectedly diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and it has realigned a lot of my life.

I am hoping to power through the changes and I am planning on launching a podcast and a few nostr/bitcoin related pet projects, including a nip-05 registrar, some relays, deploying accounts for each of the projects, deploying BTC nodes and lightning nodes for each project, and many more things down the pipeline.

I am considering putting some listings on Geyser for financial backing and estimate that I will need to sink between $10-20K USD into the projects to fully realize an MVP. Much of that will be building a studio for the podcast, which I want to build as a shed in the back yard, so it is close and isolated from the house.

I do not expect that a bunch of strangers will crowd fund this whole endeavor I want to try, but if there are some kind and well intentioned donations, it would be graciously accepted.

As for the name of the podcast, I will share it soon, once I have registered the domains and associated account names on various platforms. That should hopefully be completed in the next few weeks.

I have already secured a good portion of the equipment for the studio, including mics, a Rodecaster Pro 2, Headphones, PCs, and similar items, but I think I really need to get the barn setup as a studio before I can create much of the content, since it will provide a more professional look to the content when it is a dedicated space for the project.

As for the nostr and BTC pages, I have them registered, but I have just slapped some basic wordpress sites in place while I investigate my options for various tech stacks and determine what level of custom development may be needed so support the mission of each site.

The idea is that each of the sites would be geared for various audiences or use cases and that they would have some synergies between them that would allow individuals to be interested in use cases that span one or more of the projects. It will range from new user education to tools for seasoned bitcoiners, but be separated in a way as to not overwhelm new users or detract from the features the more seasoned users want to see by overlapping the new user content into the same UI. To fully realize these projects, I will likely need to bring in additional coding talent, but I hope to do a lot of the ground work on my own to start.

I am also planning on opening a lightning based web store, to replace my ebay store that I have been reluctant to use for a long time. I have a great deal of computer hardware and collectables that I intend to list for sale for sats, but this one is a whole time sink of its own.

I am doing all of this in hopes to build something I am proud of rather than going back to the corporate world that I left in 2018. I spent a long time helping a company build things that I was heavily involved in and somewhat passionate about, but it was never my own and I have nearly nothing to show for the efforts, but a lot of years spent on products that I hold no claim to anymore.

It is time for me to get to building a media empire and bringing some wisdom and creativity to content that will help users better understand freedom and self-sovereign life choices.
