Oof, just saw that you did this. The phone should not keep searching for a signal in airplane mode. The faraday bag will not drain battery. Most modern smart phones will go into hibernation since it is not being pinged by any signals.
I haven't tried leaving wifi and bluetooth on as I have these set to automatucally turn off when not in use, but with newer phones/os versions, they shouldn't drain a significant amount of battery. You could try turning them off. You can also look at your apps to see if there are any that are always on that are placing significant drain on your battery.
Depending on your bag, you might be able to seal it around a charging cable to keep it charged. Conversely, you could put a battery pack in there with it too keep it charged.
