UK comedian Dave Gorman has a routine about his Wikipedia adventure. His page got a false story added about him backpacking somewhere. He got it removed. News sites picked it up and used it while it was there, and other news sites copied it. Wikipedia then added it back, now proved with sources, even though the sources all came from one false edit on Wikipedia.
