This is my pond, sorry I suck at making videos. lol This one is from before the floating plants took over the surface. Now it's covered in giant water lettuce. I also had to do a better job fixing the filter intake, because tadpoles were getting sucked in. I used a pool filter pump instead of a pond pump, because I already had it. Most people would get a pond pump, but I'm keeping this one until it breaks.

There's a great channel that I got so much good info from called Ozponds. He's has the best videos on setting up filtration. I based my bog on his design. https://www.youtube.com/@Ozponds

My advice is to decide what you want to keep in the pond first, then get a pond big enough for the creatures who will be living in it. I got such a big one so my pleco could have a big enough home, but you can get a much smaller one and keep rice fish or some other kind of small fish, like ruby minnows. I've got lots of ruby minnows, they are really weird and interesting, and they can tolerate all kinds of water parameters.
