I've always thought Crowdstrike was suspect after they were loudly lying about ("Russian Fancy Bear" @ DNC) malware attribution, presumably to cement themselves into Government and corporate media, showing that they'll "play along".
Accurate and truthful malware and cyberattack attribution is IMPOSSIBLE. Correlating active timezones, exploits/binaries used, IP logs, etc. is nonsense: it proves nothing. Any and all conclusions drawn in this manner are based on, at best, circumstantial evidence.
