I would ask myself ... Will the machine take the OS I want to install? Do I have any files, settings, bookmarks, programs I wish to keep or record from the existing installation? Can I perform a fresh install (do I have the installation media, drivers, and software key if needed)? Can I transfer any personal files from the old drive after the fresh install on the new drive? .... among other things
