What I love most about Andreas Antonopoulos' Mastering Bitcoin and Mastering The Lightning Network books is they give a very solid technical foundation.
Starting with these two books, you can code a Bitcoin or Lightning transaction from scratch, or code a wallet from scratch, or modify existing wallet software, or even do nifty things with your local Bitcoin node.
Pick a language like Javascript, Python, or Rust, and have at it!
