I haven't slept well tonight because of a #math equation that has been begging me.
TrainingPeaks scores a running session as:
rTSS = (s × NGP × IF) / (FTP × 3600) × 100
Where,
- s is your run duration in seconds
- NFP is your normalized grade pace
- FTP is your running functional threshold pace
- IF = NGP / FTP
This means::
rTSS = (s × NGP × IF) / (FTP × 3600) × 100
= s × NGP / FTP × IF × 100 / 3600
= s × IF × IF × 1 / 36
= s / 36 × IF²
Seriously.
