The firing incident outside Khan's residence is believed to be linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, with one of the accused identified as Vishal aka Kalu, who works for gangster Rohit Godara. The accused purchased the bike used in the incident from a second-hand dealer in Raigad and came to Mumbai on the bike from Panvel. The police are questioning people about the process of selling and buying the motorcycle. The case has been transferred to the crime branch and the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad and the National Investigation Agency have sought details of the incident.
