or: "how to use a dozen eggs" (the pound cake takes 12 yolks and the angel food cake takes 12 whites)
Against my better judgement, I followed the recipes, but I think it was a mistake with the angel food cake. "Ungreased pan" and "immediately invert the pan" I think caused the disaster shown in the photo (the part that floofed up was squished when it was inverted, and half of the cake got stuck in the pan - though I did manage to get that part out whole!), but I covered it with a mascarpone-whip-cream frosting and it tastes lovely, so it's not a complete failure
The pound cake had a nice texture but was a little dry - I think maybe replacing the cup of water with a cup of milk next time might do the trick? And chocolate on top of that one because it seemed like a good idea at the time (it was in fact a good idea)
