Tomboy should describe ≤24-year-old women who aren't girly. By the time she's in grad school, that concept should be discarded entirely because you're dealing with a grown woman.
I think lots of guys just want girls who aren't shrinking violets. That retarded article critiquing tomboys as "White supremacist" galvanized much of our guys in defense of such women. As to why it got so much traction, tomboys are much more attainable in the current year than tradwives. Like it or not, the tradwife tends to be the product of a luxury lifestyle which most people cannot afford. Tomboys pulling their own weight is very attractive to men so they feel they're not struggling alone
