Campbell County to receive training and support for economic resiliency with “BRECC” challenge

Campbell County in Wyoming is one of seven communities in the country to enroll in the Building Resilient Economies in Coal Communities (BRECC) initiative, which aims to strengthen economies that rely on coal. The program provides training, support, and coaching to local leaders to help them navigate economic changes and plan for the future. Campbell County Commissioner Jim Ford believes that while the coal industry may face challenges, the county has the capacity to transition to other industries such as wind, solar, or nuclear. The goal is to prevent decline and continue the county's upward growth trajectory. The BRECC challenge will result in a living document that will be continually updated based on changing realities.
