Goals, I was told long ago, are best framed as loosely guided ideas to avoid creating expectation. The linear part of my thinking has a hard time with that. I enjoy destinations. Being in this moment, thinking about impossibilities or perhaps improbabilities, amplifies the obvious. Surrendering to a lack of control can be as much of an act of will as to not.
