Yes and no? Ask yourself why Google fired it's AI ethics folks?
Having worked there, its very bad form at Google to call someone's "baby" ugly. Regardless of your reasoning, it will be interpreted as a 'non team player' move to belittle a project because "you don't like it." People will shun you, management will chastise you, and the people who "get things done" will get promoted for getting it out the door. And none of those "doers" will get any flack for causing PR disasters.
