Those handles are not unique and can be spawned over and over again by scammers, spammers, etc. NIP-05s would be better but people would have to care about them enough to keep them unchanged and valid. The best bet here is to share full pubkeys. I know it is not really feasible in print, but at least in the digital version npubs could be included.
