As long as the app viewing a thread can reassemble all the posts, it's always possible to find the original post from which it started. Any post may have more than one post hanging off it, but there's no way it can have more than one post above it in the thread. What do we see in nature that works like that, constantly branching from a single source?
A WordTree? A WordRiver?
Could apps visualise this branching in ways that make threads easier to follow?
