We’re still at the “desiring” a good layer 2, not “needing” one.
I think projecting out right now, there would be normies using Fedi daily then each fedi would have a few “technical experts” handling the lightning exit ramps and inter-mint transactions.
Still have the option of self sovereign base layer, but block space scarcity might price you out.
