But it also must be said, on a simple level, having the world's largest social media company connect to the Fediverse does validate everything that every ActivityPub, Mastodon, Pixelfed, Peertube, _________ insert-fedi-platform-here, developer and user has worked for.
As a #selfhost #mastoadmin I have the privilege of keeping federation with threads.net while also watching it like a hawk, and I will.
Others will choose to block threads.net completely. Out of respect for that I won't tag his profile. Also because he is a f_ fascist monster.
The beauty of the #Fediverse that sets it apart from anything before it is the democratic and individual choices people can make and there is nothing he or Meta can do to take that away. The code and the idea will always exist beyond his reach.
