As we entered the age of purposeful genetic mutations, ie the mRNA therapies and such, i couldn't help but be reminded of the slave animal hybrids of Nostrilia.
When all the conspiracy theorists were talking about how if you allow them to change your genetic code from its original form to something if their design you're no longer "human" and as such not protected by human rights.
I often feel like I'm liviing in a sci fi story, though usually something like invasion of the body snatchers or they live where you're the only one who sees something terrible and monstrous, but this fucking with dna really reminded me of Cordwainer Smith.
