I don't like impotent thought. Thought without culture. We remember big trends in thinking by the culture it produced. The Enlightenment has a warm glow around it because of art which rose up around it. Beethoven ate dinner with Napoleon. That era of thought is associated with the peak of Western civilization and thought of very fondly. It's why someone can think of the Constitution as an important founding document. It's easy to look to the late 18th century for inspiration.

People don't have to live their ideals, necessarily, because life provides hard boundaries especially for radical ideals. But they do have to illustrate their ideals. Paint their ideals. Sing their ideals. Politics flow from culture.

This is the explanation for the LGBT phenomenon. For many things we hate and have trouble combating. Oh you hate black people? Do you hate Michael Jackson? Of course not. Prince? No. You hate gays? Do you hate George Michael? Do you hate Queen? And there are many more examples like this. And even if you do, many people do not.

Some of this is top down. Obviously. But whether it is top down or not these people and their music and art has affected the culture and peoples thinking.

That's an advantage the enemy has, they're there. Culture is partly a question of who shows up. It's not hard to turn on the radio and listen to blacks and gays and talented people sing about libtard ideas.

Idk what the counter to it is. Maybe more people learning Japanese to listen to Touhou songs. There aren't any music creators and in general "content creation" has simply died off. There's very little to read let alone listen to or entertain oneself with. It's a culture which is starving.

Even if we can't live our ideals today, it'd be great if talented artists could create art for the rest of us. To give us an idea of where to go and what to do with these ideals. Show us where they could go in the future.
