#dreamjournal Something is wrong with the world. The sun has stopped rising every day, demons are coming out of cracks in the earth, and the streets are full of strife.

There is apparently a way to fix everything that involves finding out what these three symbols are and putting them together somehow. There were wars between different factions who somehow knew the symols offered great power. I had managed to get one of the symbols by stealing it from a place where I had worked as some low-level drudge, and I ran into this group of people who had gotten another. We were all being chased by other factions, including demons, who wanted the symbols for themselves. The final symbol was found when a girl was drawing random patterns in her notebook and stumbled upon it, and was surprised when it reacted in the presence of the others. The symbols looked like squares and lines, not anything from any script I've ever seen, and not any occult thing I've ever seen either.

This allowed us to go to a mystical place called "The Alcove," but it was made known that we could never return once we went. We would die there, for certain. Most people backed off, didn't want to go. A cat had gotten sucked in as well by accident when the symbols were first successfully drawn, this is the event that scared everybody. I was about to decline as well, but I decided to jump in at the last moment.

The Alcove was a world that's initially barren, but responds to the wishes of living things that enter it. I was there, and the cat was there, and the girl who had drawn the last symbol was there. There was a feeling that we'd probably never be able to go home, we'd either die there or somehow be trapped, but there was something we could do that would fix the world. However, between me, my cat (I wasn't my IRL self so the cat wasn't Ajax, it was an orange sapient cat (not garfield)) and the girl we didn't have enough entities from the world to cause any change. It took 4. We found this out when we came upon this structure in any building or environment we created that had four lights on it-- in our presence, the lights would turn from red to green, but we never had enough people to turn all 4 of them green.

A demon who looked like the "fiend" from pilotredsun's videos had also found the symbols and made it into the alcove, and we had to broker a deal with him to be our fourth party member so we could fix the world. It was a huge mystery how it would turn out-- the demon could not benefit from it personally in any way, because he could not return to the world, but he was bored from spending all this time here. He would have influence on how the world would turn out-- would he will his own influence to create evil, or would he do something else since he can't personally benefit anyway?

We ended up spending a huge stretch of time there, millions of years, but it seemed to pass like normal time before we finally decided to go through with the process. The dream ended before that happened but I assume we did, IDK.

I also remember I created a whole neighborhood for us to live in while in the alcove, complete with power lines and lights so we could see (the alcove was initially dark) and I had to imagine a power plant into existence as well as an infinite source of coal for it to burn (I don't know why I didn't just imagine a box that produced endless electricity and cut out all the extra steps but it's what happened). The cat imagined furniture and food. The girl recreated the sun. IT was populated with people, but because they weren't from our own world, they were somehow "lesser" beings since we didn't have the power of "true" creation, they couldn't participate and be our fourth. Something about genomes... It took four functional genomes to use the power. I can't remember the details.

Also we found decayed versions of the creations of previous parties who had come from the real world in order to fix it, but no sign of what happened to them other than an intimation that what had gone wrong in the real world was somehow their fault.
