That seems sad. Funny how if you go to the country itself, locals want you to participate in local festivals or at least attend and enjoy but if you happen to appreciate it in another country it's dismaying! LOL

What people tend to forget lately is that you can't really control cultural transfer, appropriation, borrowing, copying etc. This is what people have done for millennia. Sometimes it can be good, other times shite. What to do? We are apes and we've almost all derived our customs etc from other cultures before us starting with whatever our parents modelled to us.
We forget that babies are essentially born without a culture! Yet weirdly they all act the same! LOL
