We had a lot of snow so had a snowplow come to plow the drive, and the dude was so dumb he started without knowing what he was doing. He plowed up my old peony bed with a Sarah Bernhardt and a Festiva Maxima in it, and would you believe it? Sorta partner put it back together and the peonies survived! We also have some free herbaceous peonies we added, then one Bartzella and two Scrumdiddlyumptious Ito peonies.
I use link stakes to hold up the herbaceous peonies. They still flop but generally stay off the ground. They are my absolute favorite perennial flower, so over the top.
