From what I've heard from bumi (npub1glq…4zwa) and MoritzK (npub1ckf…xct2) the existing wallets will go away at some point but I don't think that's anytime soon.
Since you have a node now you can run AlbyHub on it and connect any wallet you want to your node. The wallet works the same as always but but uses your node for the liquidity.
Eric P (npub1z6g…amwj) and myself have been playing around with it some. Its still new but seems to work really well.
