I disagree totally in this.
I think when I describe a reasonable relation to a software tool, then it is a similar one, as the relation to a physical tool, like a scisor, gloves or an airconditioner.
Its usefulness is defined by how well it solves the problem I try to solve with it.
A human relation is completly diffrent to this. Other humans are no tools, that are here to serve my will. They are independent beings and I have to find ways to coexist. I am not allowed to use them in a way I am allowed to use tools.
Therefore the relation towards software is fundamentally different than the relation to individual people and groups of people.
And gametheory is not something that evaluates how people should use tools. It is a simulation, to evaluate how human to human interaction works best under different circumstances.
The circumstances can be, where most people trust eachother. In other circumstances it can be mostly distrust and abusive. Depending on these circumstances one has different strategies that work best.
And it displays, that longterm tit for tat is the best performing strategy.
