Well based on the death bed confession of E. Howard Hunt (who was a member of the CIA) to his son right before he died - The assassination of JFK was done by elements within the CIA (with E. Howard Hunt himself being involved and others). He specifically called out the VP Lyndon B. Johnson as being one of the main conspirators as supposedly he absolutely hated JFK and wanted him gone.
