According to the newspaper article, she was walking with her friend's 9-year old daughter on the sidewalk when he pulled up in his car. He got out of the car and pulled out the gun and said, “You're not going to spread any more stories about me.” before shooting her twice in the back as she tried to flee.

Her death certificate states that she was shot by Blaine Corbin (which matches the article). I found it interesting that it just didn't say gunshot wound.
