We Salvadorans love Christmas; it's practically in our DNA. And this is why. πŸŽ„πŸŽ…πŸΌπŸŽ‰

Practically our entire history has been filled with chaos and violence; we lived through wars in the last decades. First, the civil war, and then the war against gangs. So, when Christmas came around, it was like stepping into a bubble of peace and harmony, a time when the world paused, and we lived filled with illusion and joy. It was our moment to recharge our dreams and hopes because life was very tough in #ElSalvador.

Imagine living with news of how many people had been killed the day before. Now, imagine living with that 365 days, none stop.

So, Christmas was our moment of peace. And I had a very good childhood; I would wake up and watch Cartoon Network's "25 Days of Christmas," decorate the house since December 1st, our entire family gathered in Xmas eve, even those who were away, and we had our Christmas dinner. There was dancing, fireworks, and a lot of food. A beautiful and unbreakable bubble, in the middle of chaos.

So, if you have visited El Salvador in December or will experience Christmas there, you will see that Salvadorans celebrate it with great joy, more than the average people I would say, and now more than ever because times have changed.

It's a new El Salvador. It's no longer an illusion of peace; it's no longer a bubble; it's a reality. Finally, we can experience a happy Christmas, in peace, with joy, safely, with the whole family.

I just wanted to share with you a little Christmas story. Happy Christmas Eve Eve! πŸŽ„βœ¨
