A Gallup Poll shows that while the U.S. economy is showing signs of strength, a third of Americans still rate it as poor. The poll reveals that 30% of respondents say the U.S. economy is good, 30% call it fair, and 39% view it as poor. However, actual statistics indicate a strong economy with positive GDP growth, low unemployment rates, and job creation. The U.S. economy added 275,000 jobs in February, and unemployment was at 3.9%. Gallup's Economic Confidence Index was at -20 in March, an improvement from the -50 measured last fall. The poll also shows that perception of the economy is heavily influenced by political affiliation, with Democrats rating it positively, independents rating it negatively, and Republicans having an overwhelmingly negative view.
