Christopher Hitchens was an English author and journalist. He was a fantastic debater, who was not afraid to state his mind (most notably on religions, but a range of topics), and had an intelligence I envy.
To me, he was a very important part of public discourse even if you don’t agree with him. It was only today I was thinking I miss him (he died of cancer several years ago) and I can’t think of many people I’ve never met I can claim that.
