The banning of X is an issue in one sense, sure speech has been censored but on the flip side, the business model still incentivises bullshit, hate and misinformation. It’s not a town square, it’s a wealthy consortium’s societal plaything.
The banning of X is a good thing in my mind. Tools exist and people have options now.
The way certain messages propagate through the platform has always been sus. The government’s don’t like Musk but Musk wants to be like government, he clearly gets a kick from the platform’s ability to create political instability.
Nostr is a super important tool and more broadly an independent internet is the way forward. Removing the incentives to lie for engagement reduce and the lack of a centrally controlled black box algorithm takes away the ability to manipulate the masses.
