I showed my aunt how to use Lightning the other day. I had her download Phoenix wallet, showed her how simple it was to create an invoice, and then sent her 50,000 sats. The transfer went through almost immediately. We went back and forth a few times so she could get the hang of it.
It's blows peoples minds when you tell them that sending lightning back and forth isn't the same as me sending money from my bank account to their bank account - it's using my own private bank that I own to fully settle a transaction with their own private bank. There is no middle man. We are just doing what banks do but cheaper, faster, trustless, and permissionless. Central Banking simply does not stand a chance. It's an improvement in every vector as an individual. The only thing Bitcoin is bad for - is banks.
In my experience, this is the quickest way to explain the big picture behind 'why' Bitcoin is so important. You want to get people to be Bullish on Bitcoin - show them that it just works better.
