The tangible value is real. The people holding paper value might get caught holding an empty bag someday and there's a lesson there, but all of the tangible value doesn't disappear when that happens. I wouldn't hold paper debt and call it wealth. But until the paper debt and paper money is rendered worthless it translates into real tangible value. You don't acquire paper value to hoard it, you acquire it to acquire real assets and hoard those.
