Thats not so good. First thing that goes out in a crisis is power and water, but copper landline phones can stay active for months or even through the whole crisis. If you live in a county without landlines, get a radio and buy one for your entire neighborhood. Buy your neighbors guns too, and invite them for bbq often. There ARE good non-networked alarms that wil give you an advantage and ~30 seconds warning, and work on battery, ironically mostly made by China.
When a Zog employed pack of narcos cuts your power and comes at you with a cell phone jammer and suppressors at 3AM, you want to have every advantage.
