I was gonna say: devils advocate->If a book has a hook I can get into I will skip sleep to read it; however *no* book assigned in school meets that criteria. I struggled to get through single chapters of dreck from the likes of John Steinbeck and as a guy I knew I wasn't alone in my suffering. Many a "book report" was just a rephrased hash of the summary on the back of the book jacket. Everything would be spelled and phrased correctly though so it was an easy 'C'.
