Again, it is standard practice among security professionals to avoid production releases involving significant security concerns on key holidays (or weekends) in major regions of use at least, unless there is active exploitation of the bugs in question. As soon as the release is made, the exploit becomes known.

I'm getting very tired of hearing excuses from people who apparently have never dealt with large scale security issues on a professional level. If the Gods of Mastodon want to keep treating the platform as a toy for amateurs, then I don't want to see any more bitching about why its use for serious applications is so limited.
