There's drama over on the other microblogging platform about artists "not drawing OCs properly" and the issue seems to largely be that clean, minimalist reference sheets make the small details... small details.
As a programmer and writer, my gut instinct is to remind folks that people can't read your minds. If something is important, call it out.
