I am not a lawyer, but I would be wary of people who talk about illegal monopolies.
My understanding is that monopolies may always exist, but certain actions they take may be illegal. Maybe that's a fine point, but I think it's an important one. Legal monopolies, but possibly taking illegal actions.
We have many monopolies that aren't going away. Your electrical power company may be one. That's a case where the monopoly is both enforced and regulated by all levels of government.
