"Can’t recommend this memoir more highly if you too have suffered from any number of Women’s Mystery Illnesses (including but not limited to: autoimmune diseases, chronic fatigue, endometriosis, neuralgia, IBS, vulvodynia) which have been dismissed by doctors and made you wonder if you really were just a little crazy, lazy or broken.
The book weaves her personal very non-linear health journey battling chronic illness with the findings of her research - because as anyone who has suffered in this way knows, you really have to become your own health detective when the systems of power let you down.
It’s refreshingly feminist, witty, insightful, deep and surprisingly funny.
