I think a middle ground to this debacle could work like this.
Since ios supports in app browsers, a version of damus that works in the browser and supports zaps can be triggered from an action on the main ios damus app. Sure the ux as a result isn't the greatest, but it leverages the web and won't be blocked by apple. Then parts of the app could trigger the web functionality.
Don't know if this would fly though but I think damus having a web presence would help in not completely kneecapping the ios #nostr users.
