One of the names for today is “Quasimodo Sunday” taken from the first words of the prayers for todays mass.
Quasi = “as if” or “similarly”
Modo = “method” “manner” “mode”
Together, the translation in the missal is simply “as”, which of course does mean “similar to the manner of …” but isn’t nearly so much fun to say as “quasi modo”
