I often lie awake at 3am worrying about the day when the rest of the world finds out that in Denmark, we boast that we live in a ‘butter hole’.

Smørhullet. The hole you make in the middle of a bowl of porridge to put a blob of butter in.

Smørhullet. A safe, peaceful place. A sheltered nook. A place it’s a privilege to live in. The butter hole of the world.
