Starfield's writing and world building are truly horrible. If you thought, what if Robots were like humans was poorly executed this is what killed earth.

>scientist finds artifact on Mars
>rather than having the normal vision of unity, he talks with an alternative version of himself who perfected grave drive technology
>this shouldn't have happened as neither of them are Starborn, and that isn't how the artifacts work
>scientist proceeds to perfect grav drives on earth
>going to and from the moon damaged earths magnetosphere
>that's not how that works.webm
>knew this would happen from the start
>other scientist made quick fixes to prevent it from happening on other planets
>dumb fuck could have literally not killed Earth by revealing to his compatriot this could damage the Earth as the fixes were easy, but chose not to so the writer could make a point about how dangerous the artifacts are
>nevermind that isn't how gravity, the magnetosphere, or grav drives work
>the government or some secret society knowing the artifact drove human development decided to do fuck all and leave all the artifacts alone
>they also for reasons unknown just ignored numerous alien anomalies generating gravitational distortions on multiple planets because bethesda writing

Bethesda's writing is one of those wants to say something smart, but is too dumb to do so. Not only do they screw up grav drive technology and its dangers. They couldn't even get any of the basics of science correct in their world building. Fallout 4 had better world building and writing and that game forgot X-rays existed.
