I personally am absolutely alien to any kind of schadenfreude in these vulnerable people permanently harming themselves.
I do however think that now that Russia basically made desistance the only viable option for people with gender dysphoria that russian medical science will prove to be an essential opposite "control group" to what is essentially the Western medicine's large scale human experimentation program on sex and gender in children ("Puberty blockers" on kids, confusion of sense of self regarding sex, artificial sex organs, etc.)
Especially since rapid onset gender dysphoria (ROGD) has become a viral phenomenon in the anglo world, Russia's alternative way may lead to less suffering all things considered. I am however not a fan of how contemporary russian politics sees rigid gender traditionalism as the be-all and end-all solution to help people with these problems. Many of those affected only consider chemical and surgical castration because of homophobia and the lack of expressive tolerance regarding sex roles in the first place.
