His clothing looks pretty good, but the humans themselves look noticeably worse than the clothes and accessories they're wearing and carrying. Assuming he charges the same for mecha and humans though, that's probably a pretty decent price for mecha stuff. I've never commissioned any mecha stuff, but a lot of artists don't do it at all, and the ones who do usually charge a lot extra for it due to the much higher amount of detail it requires. My guess is that he's a decent artist who just struggles with the human body.
