I grew out of my #depression about 30. #Post-punk music is more or less founded on it. I have a Swedish-American friend who outgrew it around 60. There's a Finn there in my social network who is probably despressed but we don't communicate firstly probably because he is gay and you have to be more in-the-closet to be with straight men, but the music in our network is depressing.
I think it's important to distinguish between environmental & biochemical depression.
